The athletic teams from Loyola are known as the Loyola Ramblers, who compete in 11 varsity sports in the NCAA Division I, including in basketball, soccer, volleyball, and cross country. The Ramblers have experienced victory several times, in the past years, including in basketball, in which they won the Men’s 1963 national championship, and as of 2010, Loyola University is the only one Division I NCAA school in the state, that ever won a national title.
